HERE’S YOUR EXEMPT EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION CHECKLIST

Here’s your checklist that spells out the Department of Labor (DOL) “Job Duty” guidelines to help you determine if an employee can be classified as exempt from overtime pay.  It is based on the exemption categories spelled out in the DOL’s Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Note that your employee also must be paid at least $455 per week on a salary basis, in addition to meeting one of the job duty exemptions.
